According data compiled by Comparitech researchers, some crypto funds are recovered in one out of 10 cases, with just a quarter of all stolen crypto funds recovered. Since 2011, over $9.45 billion has been stolen across 582 individual crypto heists. In today’s value, these stolen funds are worth more than $47 billion. 🔹️ In 15 cases (2.6%), all of the stolen crypto funds were recovered, equating to $765.7 million. 🔹️ In a further 62 cases, $1.7 billion was recovered from a total loss of $3.3 billion (52%). 🔹️ Overall, crypto platforms have been able to recuperate around one-quarter of the stolen funds ($2.36bn).
